Article: What "Small Batch" Really Means When the Work Is Done by Hand

What "Small Batch" Really Means When the Work Is Done by Hand

For us, small batch is not a slogan. Because every set is hand-embroidered, each drop is a small number of items. We release designs in limited drops. A drop can sell out, and a design that finds its people may return in a later drop, always in small hand-made quantities. Some designs are made only once.

The honest version of scarcity

A lot of brands use “limited” loosely. Ours is a production fact. The embroidery on a single set takes hours, so the ceiling on a design is set by how much handwork our artisans can do, not by a marketing decision. That ceiling is real, and it is why our drops are small.

What happens when a design sells out

A drop selling out does not always mean the design is gone forever. If a design resonates, we may make it again in a future drop, still by hand and still in small numbers. Some designs are deliberately one-off. What we will never do is mass-produce a design to meet demand, because that would mean giving up the handwork that makes it worth owning. If a design is retired for good, its page stays as a record of what was made.

Questions

Does small batch mean you never restock?

No. It means quantities are naturally small because the work is done by hand. A design that does well may return in a later drop, always in small numbers. Some designs are made once.

How many of each design do you make?

It varies by design and by drop, but always in the range of a small hand-made run, never a mass-market quantity. We do not publish exact numbers.

How will I know if a sold-out design comes back?

Join the list on the product page. We will tell you if a design returns, or when the next drop lands, before it goes public.
